The innovative and patented BAO granulates can be further processed on normal injection moulding machines. The choice of end products is therefore endless. Straws, cups or ice cream spoons can be made from our materials without any problems. Best of all, they offer no disadvantages in terms of usability. Bioplastic in all forms contains plastic! Despite environmentally conscious branding, these plastic moulds are not a true natural alternative to conventional plastic. BAO, on the other hand, is completely plastic free and can therefore be distributed and used worldwide for disposable use.
A step up from compostable? A variety of products are labelled "compostable" on today's market – including environmentally harmful ones. However, all products that take up to 100 years to fully decompose may call themselves compostable. A wrong step towards a sustainable and environmentally conscious future. Ultra compostable™ addresses this problem by exclusively labelling products that are 100% free of chemicals and plastics, and that decompose completely in less than 50 days.

Other alternatives, such as paper straws, contain bleach and glue despite food contact. Our materials, on the other hand, do not contain any chemicals at all.
100% forest protection
Not a single hectare of forest has to be cut down for BAO products. The opposite is the case: the BAO team actively supports plantations in Senegal for the protection of the forests.

All ingredients used are of natural origin. This is a basic requirement for Ultra compostable™ and for every BAO product.

Our BAOPAP products contain recycled plant fibres, which we reuse from waste products of the agricultural industry. BAOPAP is also Ultra compostable™, so it decomposes in less than 50 days and keeps the environment clean.

BAOFOAM is our alternative to Styrofoam.
BAOFOAM has a much lower density compared to BAOPAP. Therefore, BAOFOAM is an optimal substitute for Styrofoam. It is especially suitable for packaging inlays or for heat or cold insulation. Like all BAO granulates, BAOFOAM is Ultra compostable™ and therefore sustainable to the highest degree as well as clean for the environment.

Odourless
Unlike other plastic alternatives, products made from BAO neither have their own odour nor do they give off odours to food.
Tasteless
Due to the special composition of BAO materials, they are completely tasteless. A clear advantage over wood or paper alternatives.
Climate neutral
The production of BAO products is very energy-saving. In addition, only renewable energy is used in the production process.
Functionality
Products made of BAO retain their shape during use. No more annoying softening and easy breakage when eating ice cream.
Vegan
Due to the purely vegetable formulation of the BAO granules, no animals are involved in any way. BAO products are 100% vegan.
EU compliant
Since July 3, 2022, disposable plastic and polystyrene products are not allowed to be sold and used within the EU. Our BAO products are not affected by this! They are permitted to be sold and used worldwide without any problems.
